19154 5K Race

Parkwood's Home Course

The 19154 5K Race takes runners through a chip-timed, USATF-Certified course in the Parkwood Manor neighborhood and Torrey Woods.  Everyone is welcome to walk or run: athletes & amateurs, runners & walkers, adults & children, seniors & students, individuals & teams.

Detective Kevin Cornish Memorial Award

Detective Kevin Cornish served with the Bensalem Police Department for 17 years, beginning in 1998.  He was an officer and member of the Motor Patrol Unit before being promoted to Detective in March of 2007.   At that time, he was assigned to the Special Victims Unit.

Detective Cornish had been honored as Officer of the Year by the Bensalem Rotary Club for his work in support of two children who had been removed from an abusive home.  A devoted husband and father, he volunteered as a soccer coach for Council Rock United Soccer Association and the UGH Club in Trevose.

The 19154 area is home to many fine men & women who, like Detective Cornish, uphold the common good by putting service before self.   We are grateful for their bravery, loyalty, and integrity of life.

Given for the first time in 2016, the Det. Kevin Cornish Memorial Award is a tribute to this well-respected public servant, who died following our 2015 race.   This award is presented annually to the police officer, firefighter, or EMT who finishes the 5K race with the fastest time.
